Today the New England Patriots hit the NFL offseason jackpot today, acquiring Wide Receiver Chad Ochocinco from the Cincinnati Bengals for two draft picks (A 2012 5th rd and a 2013 6th rd), and acquired defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth from the Washington Redskins for a 2016 5th rd pick. Acquiring these two Pro Bowl players not only boosts New England’s chances of returning to the Super Bowl, but also winning the Lombardi trophy. Ochocinco is coming off a season in which he took a backseat to Terrell Owens and had a down year for his standards with 67 catches for 831 yards and 4 TD. Haynesworth was in a bad situation in Washington last season and posted a lackluster line of 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks in only half a season. Head coach Bill Belichick is a master of getting disgruntled players and rerouting them back to there old form, Corey Dillon and Randy Moss for example, and will assure that Haynesworth plays to the level he did as a member of the Titans and get Ochocinco involved early and often throughout the season. Tom Brady and co. will definately be a force to be reckoned with all year long.

Early Saturday morning, the San Diego Padres agreed in principle to deal star First Baseman Adrian Gonzalez to the Boston Red Sox for four prospects, including Carlos Beltran’s cousin Reymond Fuentes. This move makes alot of sense for both sides. The Padres are coming off a suprise playoff contending season but knew Gonzalez probably wouldn’t sign long term, and the Red Sox, who missed the playoffs, needed a boost in their lineup. The move for Gonzalez will put All-Star Kevin Youkilis at 3rd, while all but closing the door on resigning Adrian Beltre. Now having Gonzalez, Youkilis and Pedroia all in the lineup and infield, it gives a significant boost to a squad determined to get back atop the AL East. If they can make a move to sign Carl Crawford, then Boston will be the favorites to not only win the AL East, but win the World Series next season.

Well Tracy McGrady finally got dealt Thursday afternoon. In a 3-team trade, McGrady was sent to the New York Knicks along with Sergio Rodriguez, the Rockets acquired Kevin Martin,Hilton Armstrong,Jared Jeffries and Jordan hill while the Kings gor Carl Landry,Larry Hughes and Joey Dorsey. In my opinion the Rockets got the best of the deal for two reasons. One: TMacs contract is off the books Two:They acquired Kevin Martin who can put up 25 ppg easily. The Knicks did create even more cap space and wil have roughly $30 million to go after Lebron,Wade, Bosh and co in the offseason.

The Giants gave up Tim Alderson who was the #4 ranked prospect in their system but got a guy who can hit.300+,play solid defense, and be a solid top of the order option in front of guys like Molina and Sandoval. The Giants have upgraded at two positions now (1st base being the other) and are set to go after the NL Wild Card slot.

Days after getting Kaka for a record transfer, football powerhouse Real Madrid beat their own record and scored Cristiano Ronaldo for $131.6 million. Real Madrid is annually in the top 2 of La Liga in Spain and, after coming up short to Barcelona this season, wanted to make a big splash to improve for next year. Now having the top 2 stars in football, the Galacticos will be the favorites to win league and quite possibly Chamipons League as well. As a Real Madrid fan I am HYPED!!!

Today the Raptors swapped shooting guard Jason Kapono for 76ers power forward Reggie Evans. This trade will work out well for both teams in my opinion. The Sixers need a sharpshooter and the Raptors need a solid rebounder and we will see how this trade plays out next season.
